The current version of Ford Fusion has been sold more than 300.000 units in the past two years. The car is popular because offering audacious design, secure handling and of course high technology. However, the car has not proved that it is suitable to enter premium or sporty segment; it is only good at being a mid-size sedan. Because of that reason, the American company attempts to bring both traits by adding two trim levels, which are 325-hp Fusion Sport and the Fusion Platinum. The last car is the one we will discuss here.
The Ford Fusion platinum is a refreshed 2017 Fusion with the works. Because of that reason, this car blurs the line even further between the Fusion-platform-mate Lincoln MKZ and Fusion Titanium, which is the previous top-tier. The Ford Fusion Platinum looks really nice. This car gets a black mesh front grille in chrome finishing. You will find a power sunroof since it comes standard for this version. Ford also enlarges the wheels; the 18-inches wheels on the Titanium are replaced with 19-inches polished wheels.
For the Platinum, Ford puts numerous ergonomic improvements, including redesigned cup holders, a rotary gear selector, a longer center armrest and simpler access to the storage under the center stack. This version is also given Sync 3 infotainment system with voice-navigation as well as heated and cooled seats. Acoustic glass in the front side window and windshield create a perfect environment to both driver and passengers. To spoil passengers, the Ford Fusion Platinum is also equipped with Sony sound system with triple-digit speeds. The air conditioning system is also much better than the old version. However, the most interesting feature that can be found here is the application of genuine leather on its steering wheel and dashboard. On the seats and doors, the aforementioned leather is decorated with diamond-stitch patterns.
